Elements and Performance Criteria
- Plan and prepare for pressure oxidation process
- Access, interpret and apply pressure oxidation process documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant
- Obtain, read, interpret, clarify and confirm work requirements
- Coordinate and communicate with other personnel using approved communication methods
- Select and wear personal protective equipment appropriate for work activities
- Select appropriate type of auxiliary equipment for work activities
- Perform equipment pre-start checks
- Identify and address potential risks, hazards and environmental issues, and implement control measures
- Obtain and interpret emergency procedures, and be prepared for fire/accident/emergency
- Start-up equipment in sequence
- Operate and monitor equipment
- Read and interpret data from equipment indicators to determine oxidation progress
- Continuously inspect and monitor plant to identify oxidation defects and potential problems and take appropriate action
- Adjust equipment to optimise oxidation performance and product quality
- Control feed to oxidation equipment
- Add oxygen to approved operating parameters
- Carry out minor maintenance to maintain condition of the equipment
- Complete all required written documentation clearly, concisely and on time
- Pass on end of shift information verbally or in writing to oncoming shift
- Shutdown in sequence and/or isolate equipment
- Conduct housekeeping activities
